Dr Hoptroff is trained as a
General Practitioner and has worked in South Wales for the past 30 years.
She graduated from the Welsh National School of
Medicine in Cardiff in 1980. Mary holds
qualifications in general practice, hypnotherapy,
counselling skills and medical education.
Since 2005 she has taught diagnostic skills to
medical students in Swansea Medical while continuing
her medical practice.
Her interests are
ecletic within general practice but she has
specialised in diagnostic medicine in all areas
including psychological medicine and women's health
especially the treatment of PMT and the menopause.
Over the past 20 years
she has also developed an interest in the
traditional medicine of indigenous peoples and has
travelled extensively investigating these
approaches. She now incorporates this
knowledge into her practice where appropriate.
She offers a caring and insightful service for routine check ups, acute illnesses and ongoing or chronic problems in adults and children. Dr Hoptroff is now
available for consultations at Oaktree Parc Clinic on a Monday evening.
A home visit service is
also available.
